The Tremains Story
Tremains has a rich history rooted in family values and a commitment to excellence. It all began in 1970 when Kel Tremain, an All Black and rugby legend, founded Tremains in Hawke's Bay. Kel embodied the core values of the All Blacks culture. He believed in a clear and well-communicated vision, fostering a humble, hungry, and smart "hive mind" where teamwork thrived.
After Kel's passing in 1992, his son ChrisTremain took the reins and successfully led the business for several years. However, Chris eventually pursued a political career, leaving the responsibility in the hands of Simon Tremain, Kel's middle son. Simon, has since taken Tremains to new heights, expanding its reach beyond Hawke's Bay into provincial New Zealand.
Under Simon's leadership, Tremains has grown exponentially, establishing five offices across Hawke's Bay. In 2018, the brand expanded further into Taupo, Rotorua, and Tauranga through strategic partnerships with existing leading real estate businesses. Recognizing the potential in new markets, the business extended its presence to Wairarapa in 2019 and Levin in 2023.
Throughout its journey, Tremains has remained deeply committed to its family values of trust, excellence, community, and fun. The company actively supports and sponsors a wide array of local clubs, organisations, and events, playing an integral role in the communities it serves. In addition, Tremains has initiated various community projects, including the Tremains Christmas Lights, and the Tremains Community Trust, further strengthening its ties with the community.
With Kel's legacy living on through the leadership of Simon and the continued involvement of Chris, Tremains is poised to build upon its achievements and create an even brighter future for all those it serves.
