It’s a Sellers Market

Despite most of the country still shivering in winter’s icy grip, we are just three weeks away from officially welcoming Spring. At Tremains we wanted to introduce our new Spring marketing initiative early into the marketplace so vendors could capitalise on the large number of buyers currently looking for property. From now until the end of October, all new properties listing with Tremains will receive FREE marketing (conditions apply),
so why not let us show you how maximum exposure translates to maximum results?

With the large buyer pool and fewer properties available for sale, the current seller’s market in Hawke’s Bay is locked in a simple supply and demand holding pattern with plenty of demand versus limited supply. This is why, in last month’s statistics from REINZ, the number of sales was down on the previous month’s total, but the median sale price had increased – typical symptoms of a seller’s market.

The OCR is currently at its lowest rate yet and this is keeping interest rates firmly in check. With these factors in alignment, now could be the perfect time to sell your property if you have had thoughts of upsizing, downsizing or are merely wanting a change. Why not contact your nearest Tremains sales office and ask one of our experienced team members about an appraisal, or for full details on our Spring marketing package?

On a very sad note I want to acknowledge the recent passing of a true rugby great and personal family friend, Sir Brian (BJ) Lochore. One of New Zealand’s most respected figures on and off the rugby field, he was known as much for his talent as a player, captain, coach and manager as he was for his philanthropic and community endeavours throughout the country. I grew up with the Lochore family spending many holidays on the farm in Eketahuna with my great friend Dave. We relived many stories last week but the one I will always remember is fencing on the top of the ridge in torrential rain and ensuring I would not be a farmer! BJ was quite simply an amazing kiwi who I was privileged to know.

Looking forward to the HB Edible Fashion Awards this Saturday, where our local creative talents will produce runway-quality designs made from edible or imitation food items and food packaging to celebrate our award-winning food-producing region. My daughter made the cut at Woodford so very excited to be through to the finals.

The market does not stop as our local economy continues to grow. We are now a destination that is on the lips of many people both nationally and internationally.
You will never be disappointed buying property in this little patch on New Zealand.
