Bob’s early working life included a successful period as a sales representative for the International
company , Agfa Gevaert, followed by a national position with Quane Industries.
While travelling through Canada he took an opportunity to buy a fellow Kiwi’s photography business. This was the start of a long association with the photography industry, including selfstarting five businesses in Tauranga.
Self- publishing four “Beautiful Bay of Plenty” books (12,000 copies sold).
Establishing a photo processing lab that grew to number two in NZ.
He was elected as a City Councillor for a three year term during which he served on the Hearings Committee.
In the early 80’s, Bob and his wife Lena subdivided 14 sections of family land, in Cherrywood. They built a family home in Matua and lived there for 16 years before subdividing three sections and buying at Omanu. They lived there for the next 20 years, and currently live in Papamoa.
Bob and Lena have been married for 43 years. They have 5 children and 10 grandchildren.
Motivation and Direction
Detached retinas have curtailed Bob’s career as a photographer so he has transferred his business skills into a career in real estate. A “people person” he is a good listener who puts importance on understanding the values of each client.
